Education & STEM

Explore our youth programs centered on Education & STEM, designed to support personal growth and encourage lifelong learning. Through hands-on experiences and real-world exploration, participants build practical life skills, expand their knowledge, and strengthen their confidence in everyday living.

Programs in this area fall within three categories: Life Skills, Hobbies & Enrichment, and STEM. Together, these experiences promote curiosity, critical thinking, and the application of knowledge in meaningful and practical ways.

Nature & Outdoors

Explore our youth programs centered on Nature and the Outdoors, designed to spark curiosity and deepen connection to the natural world. Through hands-on learning and outdoor experiences, participants build practical skills, explore natural spaces, and develop an appreciation for environmental care and stewardship.

Programs in this area fall within three categories: Education, Adventure, and Field Sports. Together, these experiences encourage exploration, outdoor skill development, and meaningful engagement with the natural world.

High School Girls Flag Football

The Fargo Park District High School Girls Flag Football program, proudly sponsored by the Minnesota Vikings, offers female athletes in grades 9–12 an exciting opportunity to learn, compete, and grow in the sport of flag football. Open to all high school girls across the metro area, this pilot program aligns with the Vikings’ broader initiative to expand girls flag football and empower young women on and off the field.

Jiu Jitsu

This Jiu Jitsu program for youth, ages 7-12, helps children develop confidence, discipline, and strong functional movement in a safe, encouraging environment. Our age-appropriate classes focus on practical Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills while emphasizing respect, teamwork, and self-control. This program is put on by Valor Martial Arts.

Pickleball

Get ready to serve, rally, and have fun! Starting this fall at the Fargo Parks Sports Center, we are offering Youth Pickleball Lessons for beginners. These sessions are perfect for kids who want to learn the basics of one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

NHL Street

NHL STREET™ is designed to provide kids and their families the best of what youth sports can be: having fun, staying active, making friends, and creating great memories.

When you join NHL STREET™, you can expect a fast-paced game that teaches teamwork, creativity, and resilience.

Created with parents in mind, we’re ensuring the pressure, schedules, and costs typically associated with hockey (and other youth sports) are kept in check.

Table Tennis

Step into the action with Fargo Parks Youth Table Tennis! This fast-paced and exciting program introduces kids to one of the world’s most dynamic sports in a welcoming and high-energy environment. Whether your child is picking up a paddle for the very first time or already has experience at the table, our program is designed to meet players at their skill level and help them grow with confidence.

Baseball & T-Ball

Fargo Parks invites kids from kindergarten to third grade to step up to the plate in our exciting youth baseball and T-ball programs! Whether your child is just starting out or building on their skills, our fun and supportive environment helps them learn the fundamentals of the game while making new friends. With enthusiastic coaches and a focus on teamwork and active play, it’s the perfect way to introduce your little ones to the joy of baseball and T-ball!

Track & Field

Run, jump, and have a blast!

Fargo Parks Youth Track & Field is open to boys and girls ages 5-12. This program helps kids build skills, stay active, and have fun through weekly practices and meets.

Practice & Meet Schedule - June 9 - July 2 (Each session lasts ~1.5 hours)

Ages 5-7 

  • Practice: Mondays @ 6:30 pm
  • Meets: Thursdays @ 5:30 pm

Ages 8-12

  • Practice: Tuesdays @ 6:30 pm
  • Meets: Thursdays @ 7:15 pm
