In a unanimous 5-0 vote, the Fargo Park District Board of Commissioners has named Susan Faus as its Interim Executive Director. Faus, who currently serves as Deputy Director of Administration, will lead the Fargo Park District in the interim as Park Board Commissioners develop the hiring process for its next Executive Director.

The state-of-the-art sports and recreation facility in South Fargo has a new name. 
The Fargo Park District Foundation is thrilled to announce the entire complex will be known as the Sanford Sports Complex. The space, which spans more than 123 acres, is designated to enrich the lives of the Fargo community and the entire surrounding region. The indoor facility built on the complex property will be known as the Fargo Parks Sports Center at the Sanford Sports Complex.

Let the games begin as athletes from across the region gather in Fargo this summer to compete in the annual North Dakota Senior Games. This three-day event, taking place August 16-18 is the largest regional multi-sport event for ages 50 and better. 

 
The Fargo Park District strives toward serving the needs of financially disadvantaged youth with the help of the Fargo Park District Scholarship Program. The Scholarship Program helps to provide the opportunity for all citizens in the city of Fargo to participate in general recreation programs.

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Park District of the City of Fargo will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 5:30 pm in the Boardroom of the Park District offices at 701 Main Avenue, Fargo, with President Dawn Morgan, presiding.

Each year the Fargo Park District Foundation Golf Tournament raises funds to support the Fargo Parks Scholarship Program. The Fargo Park District's Scholarship Program strives to ensure that no Fargo resident under the age of 18 be denied participation in recreation programs and events due to financial inability to pay the program fees, including swim passes.

Registration is now open for the Fargo Park District’s new Discover Junior Golf Tour. The first of its kind in North Dakota, the Discover Junior Golf Tour will provide an extra ordinary competitive golf experience for junior golfers between the ages of 7 and 18 and includes four levels of competition based on age and skill. Registration closes Sunday, April 30.   

Rose Creek Public Golf Course has a new restaurant partner just in time for the 2023 golf season. At a January 30, 2023 Special Board Meeting, the Fargo Park District Board of Commissioners approved a lease for a partnership with Andy Skatvold of 99 Bottles and Kjerbeersten, LLC for food and beverage services at the South Fargo golf course. The approval came with a 4-0 vote with Commissioner Aaron Hill abstaining.

Looking to spend more time outside in 2023? The Fargo Park District’s Red River Trail was recently added to North Dakota State Parks and Recreation’s 2023 “12 Months – 12 Hikes Challenge”. The statewide challenge is designed to encourage physical activity and the exploration of North Dakota’s natural gems across the state.
