Approval of updated Valley Senior Services Transit Title VI Plan

Park Board Commissioners voted 5-0 to approve an updated Valley Senior Services Transit Title VI Plan.

Title VI prohibits discrimination in all Federal Transit Administration (FTA) services, programs, or benefits on the basis of race, color or national origin. The North Dakota Department of Transportation requires that Valley Senior Services update the Title VI plan every three years.

It is policy of Valley Senior Services (VSS) to take reasonable steps to provide meaningful access to all individuals in any encounters with transit services regardless of their race, color or national origin or limited ability to speak, write or understand English.

Naming of Susan Faus as Interim Executive Director of the Fargo Park District

In a unanimous 5-0 vote, the Fargo Park District Board of Commissioners has named Susan Faus as its Interim Executive Director. Faus, who currently serves as Deputy Director of Administration, will lead the Fargo Park District in the interim as Park Board Commissioners develop the hiring process for its next Executive Director.

“The board supports this direction to assist the staff in accomplishing the mission and goals of the Park District,” says Joe Deutsch, Fargo Park Board President. “We are confident that Susan’s skills and experiences will allow her to lead the organization in the direction of growth as we work to hire the next Executive Director.”

While interim Executive Director, Faus will continue to oversee the tasks of her current position as Deputy Director of Administration including the areas of Finance, Human Resources, IT, Marketing and Sales, Golf Pro Shops, Valley Senior Services, and the Fargo Parks Sports Center. Park Board Commissioners are expected to further clarify the hiring process to name a permanent Executive Director.

“I look forward to stepping into this role and supporting our talented staff in their work to make a positive impact on our community during this time of transition,” says Faus.

Susan joined the Fargo Park District in November of 2022, previously serving as the Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Bloomington, MN and Assistant Parks and Recreation Director in the City of Edina, MN prior to that. She holds a Master of Science in Sports Management degree from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate and Community Fitness from North Dakota State University.
