National Hammock Day

Date
Friday, July 5 2024, 12:03 - 1:03 pm
Description

Come "hang out" with us on Monday, July 22 to celebrate National Hammock Day at Island Park! 🌳🌞

We will be swaying away from 4:00 to 8:00 pm near the Island Park Gazebo with laid-back tunes, "We're Not Really Strangers" game stations, a community mural, and more.

Don't have a hammock? Have no fear! There will be a limited supply of hammocks available on-site for check-out at zero cost.

This event is free and open to the entire public. Grab your friends or come make new ones and help us celebrate one of our favorite park activities🌳🌳

This year's National Hammock Day is meant to celebrate National Park and Recreation Month.

For nearly 40 years, the United States has celebrated National Park and Recreation Month during the month of July to recognize the power parks and recreation in building vibrant, resilient communities.

This year's theme "Where You Belong" highlights the welcoming and inclusive programs that create safe, accessible, and welcoming spaces for everyone 🙌
