Mickelson Field Lighting Project

Jack Williams Stadium Backstop Project

Project Overview: Anchor existing wall back along first base line so it is compliant with seating areas.
Davies Pool Re-Surfacing Project
Status: Completed October 2025
Location: Davies Pool
Project Overview: This project will include the removal of existing pool surfacing and re-plastering of all pool walls and floor. Drain grates will also be replaced.
Yunker Farm Park Dog Park
Status: Complete October 2025

Project Overview:
A key piece of the broader Yunker Farm Park Master Plan, the dog park located at Yunker Farm Park is being moved, redesigned and revitalized. Construction began in mid-July of 2024. The new dog park is expected to open to the public summer 2025. The existing dog park at Yunker Farm Park will remain open and available to public use for the duration of this project and will not be affected by construction.
After a robust public input period, the new and improved park will feature:
- 3 separate dog areas
- Play ammenities
- Drinking fountains
- Small shade structures
- Large 20'X24' shade shelter
- Paved parking lot
- Improved lighting
- Improved drainage
- Improved landscaping
Some trees will be removed during construction of the new park. The trees that will be removed were planted as part of NDSU research plots more than 20 years ago. The research trees were planted in "plot" rows very close together and were not intended to be a permanent part of the landscape. The majority of the trees that are being removed are considered small (8" diameter or less), in marginal to poor condition, and many are of the Ash species. With the threat of Emerald Ash Borer imminent in our community, these trees were carefully selected for removal to ensure the overall health of our urban forest. It is important to reiterate, they were not removed solely for the Yunker Farm Dog Park project.
Fox Run Park Playground

Project Overview: The Fargo Park District is removing and replacing the playground equipment with new, modern structures to provide a safer and more engaging play environment. The playground is closed until construction is complete.
Fargo Parks Sports Center Parking Lot Project
Status: Completed October 2025
Location: Fargo Parks Sports Center
Project Overview: This project will add an additional 193 parking spots in an asphalt parking lot in the southwest corner of the complex.
Friendship Park Basketball Court
Status: Completed July 2025
Location: Friendship Park
Project Overview: This project involves renovating the basketball court area at Friendship Park. The purpose of this project is to remove and replace the existing deteriorating asphalt court with new concrete, add a new basketball standard, and add an additional amenity, plinko ball to the park for visitors to enjoy. Please be aware that access to the basketball court area will be restricted during this timeframe.
Rheault Farm Playground Replacement
Status: Completed June 2025

Project Overview: The Fargo Park District is removing and replacing the playground equipment with new, modern structures to provide a safer and more engaging play environment. The playground is closed until construction is complete.
Island Park Pool Project
Status: Completed June 2025
Location: Island Park Pool
Project Overview: The updated Island Park Pool opened to the public on June 16, 2025. New amenities include a 50-meter competition pool, four diving boards, a FlyTyme Slide, tube slide, lazy river, and a zero-depth entry pool.
Fargo Parks Sports Center (Phase II)
Status: Completed January 2025
Location: Fargo Parks Sports Center
Project Overview: Phase II of the space adds six indoor pickleball courts, four additional hardwood courts, two sheets of ice, indoor playground, party rooms, a tournament room, additional meeting rooms and more.
