The staff leadership team of the Fargo Park District is comprised of the directors. The day to day operations are managed by the Executive Director of Parks and Recreation. The district itself is divided into the following departments: Enterprise, Finance, Human Resources, Parks, Recreation, Valley Senior Services and Courts Plus Community Fitness.

The leadership for the Fargo Park District Foundation Foundation Board of Directors is made up of community leaders and concerned citizens serving in a volunteer capacity. Their roles include financial overview and support, overseeing risk and compliance (fiduciary), creating accountability, transparency and strategic fundraising direction and monitoring and evaluating governance.

Tee up for fun with Fargo Parks’ Discover Junior Golf Program, designed to introduce young golfers to the game in a fun, welcoming environment. This recreational instructional program is open to youth ages 5–12 and focuses on teaching the basic fundamentals of golf, etiquette, and general knowledge of the game. With a maximum 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio, participants receive quality instruction in a supportive group setting. Two summer sessions are offered: June 8–25 and July 6–23.

This neighborhood park features a variety of playground equipment along with a junior disc golf course, basketball courts, multipurpose field, soccer field and recreational trails. You can also use the grill and picnic tables along with the shelter that has no reservations.

The Fargo Park District offers nine cross country ski and snowshoe trails throughout the city, which are groomed as needed depending on the trail and weather conditions. Come out and enjoy some great winter exercise as these trails are available to the public free of charge.

Disc Golf courses are open during park hours. We currently have adult courses and junior courses, which are designed for youth or beginners with distances of 100 to 104 feet.

Joe Deutsch was reelected for his fifth term in 2022, originally joining the Board in 2006. A native of Fargo, Joe grew up in the Fargo Park District, riding his bike daily to go play baseball at Mickelson and golfing at El Zagal. This is a tradition he has tried to carry on, raising his own children here in Fargo. As a professor at North Dakota State University, Dr. Deutsch prepares Physical Education Teachers, Coaches, and Recreation Specialists. Joe is married to his wife Brandi and has three sons.

Jerry was re-elected to the Board in June of 2024, originally joining the Fargo Park Board for his first term in 2016. As the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Engagement for the North Dakota University System, he provides public affairs and strategy leadership for the North Dakota University System office and the 11 institutions of the NDUS. He retired as a Captain in the Navy Reserve after 28 years of service. He serves on the Board of Directors of FM Athletics and the Roger Maris Celebrity Golf Tournament. He also volunteers with the Growing Together community garden project.
