Date
Monday, August 3 2026, 1:53 - 2:53 pm
Description

Join Fargo Park District, Valley Senior Services (VSS), and Courts Plus for a fun-filled Fall Picnic on Thursday, September 10, from 10:00 am-1:00 pm at Rheault Farm Park. Celebrate the season with a morning of fitness, delicious food, and social activities in one of Fargo's beautiful park settings.

The event begins at 10:00 am with a free Strength, Balance, and Stretch class with Courts Plus, followed by a catered lunch (shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches) provided by Concordia Catering in partnership with Valley Senior Services at 11:00 am. After lunch, enjoy root beer floats at 11:45 am before wrapping up the afternoon with bingo at 12:00 pm. The event concludes at 1:00 pm.

Meal Information and Registration

The picnic meal is provided by Valley Senior Services through its Congregate Meal Program, which receives funding under the Older Americans Act. To help Valley Senior Services receive reimbursement for a portion of each eligible meal served, all individuals who register for a meal must complete a Meal Program Assessment Form before the event. Assessment forms are available at each registration location and can be completed when you sign up. If you complete the form in advance, please bring it with you to the picnic. There will also be forms available at the picnic the day of the event.

Individuals 60 years of age and older are encouraged to make a free-will donation of $4.00 for their meal. Participants under the age of 60 do not qualify for meals under the Older Americans Act and must pay $11.75 to cover the cost of their meal (unless their spouse is 60+). Donations may be made by cash or check at the picnic. Those wishing to donate by credit card may call the Valley Senior Services office before or after the event or make a secure online donation at https://www.valleyseniorservices.org/donate-toward-meals-received/.

To reserve a meal, please register between August 17 and September 3 by calling the Valley Senior Services office at 701-293-1440, stopping by any of the three Fargo Valley Senior Services senior centers (Broadway Station, Trollwood Senior Center, Ed Clapp Senior Center), visiting the Fargo Parks Sports Center, or visiting Courts Plus Community Center.
