Urban Plains has two playgrounds, recreational trails, three large shelters, a small shelter, a gazebo and houses the Garden of Healing.
Urban Plains is a project of the Urban Woods & Prairie Initiative with Audubon Dakota.
Garden of Healing
The Garden of Healing began in 2020 to serve as a place for all types of healing for the FM area community and anyone who travels to this state. The Garden of Healing's purpose is to provide a safe, positive place in nature for your self-guided walk of healing and reflection.
The Garden is healing for anyone who has lost a loved one, knows someone struggling or sick, or someone that has re-gained LIFE by some type of donor or spiritual meaning.
The Garden of Healing is rooted in health for all the community to visit day/night.

Engraved bricks are placed twice a year in the Garden of Healing to honor loved ones and life itself. Everyone is welcome to purchase a brick to for personalized engraving, bricks cost $100.
Additional donations can be made of the website.
Interested in renting a shelter? Visit the reservation page. Requests can be made starting the first business day of the year. Rentals are for May 1 - October 1.
Rentals must be made at least 3 business days in advance. The Park District has a NO REFUND policy. Please go to registrations/rentals and login to view pricing and reserve your shelter online. Fees are subject to change. Additional fees may apply.

Request for shelters can also be made over the phone, 701-499-6060; or stop by the Fargo Park District office at 701 Main Avenue, Fargo, ND 58103. Payment is due at the time a reservation is made.
Shelter accommodates up to 100 people includes electricity, charcoal grill, serving bar and restrooms on site.
