Help area seniors in need by volunteering for Meals on Wheels. During the months of January and February, Valley Senior Services is asking for volunteers in Fargo to help deliver Meals on Wheels to area seniors.

Meals On Wheels is a national program designed for people 60 years and older who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. In a six-county North Dakota area, Valley Senior Services delivers daily hot meals to more than 1,400 people through this program. Delivering Meals on wheels is a simple and rewarding way to help seniors in our community who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. The growing demand to provide daily hot meals increases our need for volunteers like you: individuals, groups, organizations and businesses, all pitching in to help deliver meals to our friends and neighbors in the community. Volunteers are needed year-round for this program and are greatly appreciated.

All volunteers must be 18 years of age or accompanied by a parent or authorized adult. Prior to volunteering, a background check release form, photo release form, and volunteer application need to be completed. To download these forms, visit the volunteer page of ValleySeniorServices.org. Background checks and photo release forms should be returned to the Valley Senior Services office (2801 32nd Ave S.) in Fargo. Volunteers use their personal vehicle and should plan to spend about one hour delivering meals. Meals on Wheels volunteers must have a valid driver’s license and proof of current insurance.
