The Fargo Park District Board of Commissioners considered bids for the Island Park Pool Project at tonight’s board meeting.  The Park District opted to move select bid packages to the Facilities Committee for review. With back-to-back 5-0 votes, the board rejected the remaining fifteen bid packages and directed staff to rebid those bid packages.

The Fargo Park District Facilities Committee will review select bid packages at the February 22, 2023 meeting. Staff will re-solicit bids for the rejected bid packages in the coming weeks.

Bids for construction are solicited in alignment with the District’s Procurement Policy. Once bids are awarded, construction is able to begin on the project, as weather allows.

The Park Board previously underscored the project as a forward-thinking approach to overall community wellness in our region, noting community pools, like the Island Park Pool, are key to providing necessary water safety education to the youth of our community.

The Park Board approved the project scope at the August 2022 Park Board Meeting, after careful consideration of public input and extensive research. The project scope includes a 50 Meter Competition Pool with diving boards and diving platform, a Lifestyle Pool, Lazy River and slide complex with 1 Fly Tyme slide and 1 tube slide.
