Volunteer

The Fargo Park District is looking for volunteers to help with special events and recreational programs throughout the year. Many ages and skill levels are welcome in the volunteer program.

The Department of Cultural Activities relies on volunteer assistance to make events happen. Volunteers can assist in setting up and working at events. Volunteers can be greeters, ticket takers, game operators, and parking attendants. Some events encourage families and large groups to participate together.

Cultural Activities Volunteer Opportunity:  Moonlight Monster Mash

Date: Saturday, October 25th

Location: Fargo Youth Center - 2500 18th Street South in Fargo 

Time of event: 6:30 - 9:00pm                                             

Event Description: Vampires, ghosts and skeletons welcome. All participants are encouraged to wear a costume and dance the night away. Explore the haunted attic, play ghoulish games, and trick-or-treat for some spooky snacks. Enjoy a live DJ all night long and a spooktacular entertainment show at 7:30 pm. Parental supervision required. 

 WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOUR HELP!  If you are interested in helping out this fall please let me know what shift you’d be interested in.                 

  • Complete this form (Volunteer Sign-up) and return to Tricia via email, mail or fax.
  • Shifts: 1:00-4:00 pm (decorate before event), 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm (during event- costume recommended) and 9:00-11:00 pm (clean up)
  • Volunteer duties include helping with craft projects, carnival games, supervising the haunted attic, assiting with snacks and other various positions. 

 

Cultural Activities Volunteer Opportunity:  Santa Village Daycare Days

Dates: Tuesday, December 2nd - Friday, December 5th

Location: Rheault Farm- 2902 25th Street South

Times of event: 9:00- 11:00 am and 1:00- 3:00pm

Event Description: Celebrate the season of giving this holiday season by planning a visit to Santa Village at Rheault Farm. Santa Village, located on an 15-acre enclosed farm site, is a non-commercial village where children and adults can make holiday memories with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Each daycare will have 10 minutes with Santa and 10 minutes with Mrs. Claus. Please bring your camera to take a group picture with Santa.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOUR HELP!  If you are interested in helping out this fall please let me know what shift you’d be interested in.  

  • Shifts: 8:45am-11:15am and 12:45 - 3:15pm
  • 5 people needed per shift
  • Volunteer duties include helping Mrs. Claus and Santa, collecting donations and other various positions.

The Recreation Department relies on volunteers for coaching youth baseball and youth football and other special events throughout the year.
