Volunteer

The Fargo Park District is looking for volunteers to help with special events and recreational programs throughout the year. Many ages and skill levels are welcome in the volunteer program.

The Department of Cultural Activities relies on volunteer assistance to make events happen. Volunteers can assist in setting up and working at events. Volunteers can be greeters, ticket takers, game operators, and parking attendants. Some events encourage families and large groups to participate together.

Cultural Activities Volunteer Opportunity:
Midwest Kid Fest

This family-friendly event offers fun filled day of games and activities which are by, for and about kids. Admission is free for kids and parents.  Kids can enjoy over 60 interactive activities and hands-on projects, ranging from arts and crafts to games and more. Each activity is sponsored by one of several local businesses and non-profit organizations.

Date: Friday, June 14, 2013
Time:  11am – 7pm
Location: Island Park, 302 7th St. S.

Volunteer Shifts:
10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
1:30 – 4:30 p.m.
4 – 7:30 p.m.

Volunteer Jobs:
Information: Answer questions, direct people, and pass out programs. Only 1 person needed per shift.

Inflateable Games:  Man the inflateable entrances and direct kids in and out of inflateable. Occationally you might have to go into inflateable to help get a child out.

Belly Bumpers: Supervise and play with kids using the belly bumpers in the Busy Bodies area.  4 needed per shift. 

Life Size Games: Supervise and play with kids in the Life Size Games area, which includes Scrabble, Tic Tac Toe, Ker plunk, Character Wheel, Cherry Tree and Checkers. 10 needed per shift.

The Recreation Department relies on volunteers for coaching youth baseball and youth football and other special events throughout the year.
