Sewing 101 is the perfect class for beginners (ages 16+) who want to learn essential sewing skills in a fun, supportive environment. Over five one-hour sessions, you'll learn how to use a sewing machine, read a simple pattern, and practice basic techniques like straight stitching, hemming, and seam finishing. By the end of the course, you’ll complete two small projects. No experience required. All tools and materials provided.

Through hands-on artistic experiences and cultural exploration, participants discover their voice, build confidence, and expand their perspectives in safe and welcoming spaces.

Programs in this area fall within three categories: Art Expression, Craft & Make, and Culture & Heritage. Together, these experiences encourage creativity, self-expression, and meaningful engagement with diverse artistic and cultural traditions.
