The Fargo Park District would like to give a warm welcome to Fargo Police Officer Josh Marvig. Officer Marvig joins the park district as the new Parks Security Officer.

This new position is comparable to a school resource officer, a police officer or sheriff's deputy assigned to a school or several schools. But it would be a year-round gig and they would assist with park duties like monitoring cameras, closing down parks at night or working with members of the park district on assignments.

Officer Marvig provided a little bit about himself:

"Hi, I am Josh Marvig, the new Park Officer for the Fargo Police Department and Fargo Park District. I graduated from Hawley High School in 2012 before attending Alexandria Technical and Community College for Law Enforcement, graduating in 2014. I worked security at Sanford Health in Fargo before joining the Lisbon Police Department in 2015. In April of 2016, I started with the Fargo Police and have lived and worked in Fargo since then."
