The Fargo Park District is proud to welcome the 2017 North American Fastpitch Association World Series (NAFA) to the North Softball Complex on August 9-20. The tournament will begin with the opening ceremonies on Wednesday, August 9 at 6 PM and the championship games are scheduled for Sunday, August 20 starting at 8 AM.

Fargo has had the pleasure of serving as the host for the NAFA World Series in the past, but this year will be even better! This year marks NAFA’s 25th Anniversary and we are beyond excited to host the landmark tournament at our new North Softball Complex. A total of 112 teams are traveling to Fargo from all over North America, including Canada, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, Massachusetts, Washington, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oregon, Iowa and Michigan. Teams will play over the course of two weekends and feature some of the best softball players in the country.

The North Softball Complex features 13 different fields, concessions, food vendors and full Wi-Fi access for tournament participants and fans. The Wi-Fi access will allow for live streaming, online scoring and stats. This has been made possible by Netrix IT, Datto, Inc. and Consolidated Communications.

Hosting the 2017 NAFA Tournament is a great honor for the Fargo Park District and Director of Recreation Clay Whittlesey has high hopes for the future:

“This will be the first of many major events coming to the Fargo area. The Park District has put a major emphasis on these types of things going forward. These large scale events are great economic drivers for the community and we cannot wait for more of them to come our way.”

This event is in partnership with Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Convention and Visitors Bureau, Fargo Fast Pitch Association and NAFA.
