The Fargo Park District invites the public to join in recognizing long-time Director of Valley Senior Services Brian Arett at a community open house retirement party on Friday, December 16 from 2 – 4 pm at Ed Clapp Senior Center, 2801 32nd Ave S., Fargo.
Arett has served more than 44 years in leadership with Valley Senior Services and the Fargo Park District. His impact in the Fargo-Moorhead community and entire region is both extensive and lasting. He has served as Valley Senior Services Director since 1989. In 2018, Arett also stepped in as Director of the Fargo Park District Foundation in a combined role. Under his direction, Valley Senior Services expanded services to rural Cass County and Richland, Traill, Steele, Ransom and Sargent Counties.
“Brian has served the Fargo Park District and our community well for that last 44 years. His accomplishments are extensive from leading Valley Senior Services to starting the Fargo Park District Foundation from the ground up. His commitment, passion and legacy will be felt for generations to come,” says Fargo Park District Executive Director Dave Leker. “We are grateful for his outstanding leadership and guidance. We wish him well in his next adventure and hope the community will join us in celebrating him.”
For the last 50 years Valley Senior Services has provided services to thousands of seniors across countless communities in North Dakota and Minnesota. Services include delivering daily hot meals through Meals on Wheels, operating local senior centers, transportation services, connecting seniors to needed resources and much more. It is an entity of the Fargo Park District.
