Celebrate Día de los Muertos at Broadway Square! Join us for an educational celebration on Wednesday, November 2 from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm to learn more about this traditional Mexican holiday.
This free Fargo Park District event features presentations, traditional Día de los Muertos activities, warm food and beverages and more. Kicking off the event at 4:00 pm is the presentation “What is Día de los Muertos.” At 4:30 pm, enjoy the presentation “Creating an Ofrenda,” and finally at 5:00 pm bring a blanket and enjoy a showing of the movie Coco!
Taste samples of traditional Día de los Muertos foods, including Pan de Muerto and other sweet treats, courtesy of Casa Delicia Eatery. Visit the activity tables to color a calavera, create a bookmark or pick up some traditional recipes.Try our language matching game which uses Spanish Día de los Muertos-themed words and their English translations. Get your face painted with the bright colors of this festive celebration. This event also features an interactive community ofrenda to add elements of your loved ones to for the evening.
The Square will be decorated with special papel picado, a sample ofrenda, and other traditional decorations. There will be many unique Dia de los Muertos elements to encounter at this event co-produced with Casa Delicia.
