Cornhole League follows the rules set by the American Cornhole Organization.

  1. Boards are placed 27 feet apart from front edge to front edge.
  2. Games are played to 21 or more points (no bust).
  3. Scoring: any cornhole bag on the board is 1 point and a bag in the hole is 3 points.
    1. Bags that get pushed off the board or into the hole, by either player, still count as they sit at the end of the frame. If a bag contacts the ground at any time (example: lands short and rolls onto the board) it is "dead" and should be removed.
  4. Cancellation Scoring: The points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent. Using this method, only one player/team can score in each frame.
    1. Example: If John puts three bags in the hole for 9 points and Jane puts 2 in and 1 on for 7 points, John scores 2 points. If both players get the same number of points, it's called a "push" and nobody gets any points.
  5. Both players play one board at a time and stay in their designated lane (right or left) for the whole game.
  6. Players that start the game at one board and alternate pitching bags until each player has pitched all (4) of their bags. Players then walk to the end of their lane to the other board, take score and resume pitching back to the other cornhole board.
  7. Players must deliver the bag with an underhanded release.
  8. Feet must stay behind the line of the front of the board at the time of releasing the bag.
  9. The player/team who scored in the preceding frame pitches first in the next frame. If neither player/team scores, the player/team who pitched first in the preceding frame shall retain first pitch in the next frame.
  10. If the bags become piled inside the hole and may interfere or obstruct with the next pitch or if there is a question whether a cornhole bag would have naturally fallen through the hole, a player may request to rake the cornhole bags that have fallen inside the hole.
