Fencing

"This class is an introduction to Olympic foil fencing and is for those over the age of 16. The emphasis of the class is learning the fundamentals of fencing, safe and effective fencing technique, and good sportsmanship. This class meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Participants need to wear athletic pants and bring a separate pair of athletic shoes. All necessary equipment is provided. No experience is required."

"Level 2 Fencing expands on Olympic foil fencing topics for over the age of 16: advanced techniques, refereeing, and armory. This class meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30pm -8:30pm. Participants need to wear athletic or fencing pants and bring a separate pair of athletic shoes. All necessary equipment is provided. Requirements: Coach's permission and passing Level 1 Fencing."

"This class is for foil fencers over the age of 16 who compete or are interested in competing. The class includes an emphasis on advanced footwork skills, competitive fencing tactics and strategy, competition psychology, and a deeper understanding of the current fencing competition environment and rules at local, regional, and national levels. This class meets on Monday evenings from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Participants need to wear approved USA Fencing gear, including fencing pants and athletic fencing shoes. All necessary equipment is provided; purchasing your own equipment is highly recommended. Competitors will need to purchase a USA Fencing membership. Requirements: Coach's permission."

All Fargo Park District programs and leagues are first come first serve. Please be advised, a lot of programs and leagues fill up before the registration deadline. You cannot register for a program or league that is already full. Some programs and leagues have waitlists. If you are on a waitlist, you are NOT registered and are only contacted if a spot becomes available.
