Youth Flag Football League

This recreational program is for boys and girls entering Kindergarten to 3rd Grade. This is a non-competitive league which is designed for the children to have fun and learn the basic skills of flag football.

Registration Procedure

  • Registration forms must be received by July 16 to ensure registration in this program.
  • For carpooling purposes, you may request to play with two other individuals. However, these two individuals must also request to play with you, register for the same level and list the same school. Also, this procedure only applies to registrations received by July 16.
  • Registrations received after July 16 will be returned.

General Information

  • The season is 8 weeks long.
  • Practices will take place one night each week during the program at an area park choosen by the coach.
  • Games will be held on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evenings at Tharaldson Baseball Complex starting at 5:45 pm.
  • Ideally, a maximum amount of players placed on a roster is 14. Exceptions may occur based on the situation.
  • All player must wear a protective mouthpiece. They are not provided by the Fargo Park District.

Objectives of this program

  • Equal PARTICIPATION for all registrants.
  • Learning the FUNDAMENTALS.
  • Learning teamwork.HAVING FUN!
  • This is a RECREATIONAL noncompetitive program.
  • We DO NOT keep score of any games.

Volunteer Coaches Needed!!

Due to the size of this program, we need many volunteer coaches. Typically parents are the volunteer coaches for this program. To become a volunteer coach you do not have to be a baseball expert. The volunteer coach's primary role is to be a postive role model and help the players to have a fun, positive experience. Please consider becoming a volunteer coach. To become a volunteer coach, please specify on your child's registration form.

Phil Hansen Sportsmanship Kamp for Kids

Come out for your chance to learn about sportsmanship and football from one of the best. Former NDSU and Buffalo Bills football player, Phil Hansen, is hosting a Sportsmanship Kamp for Kids.

There will be two sessions divided by age groups.  There will be 12 stations with interactive drills.  These stations will teach children skills like agility, throwing, catching, tackling, punting and more.

Phil Hansen will speak to the entire group about the importance of sportsmanship and his journey from North Dakota to the NFL.  Each participant will receive a free t-shirt and Subway and Pepsi products will be given after the drills.

F-M Athletics Youth Football - this program is not run by the Fargo Park District

FM Youth Football is tackle football with coaches provided by Fargo Athletics, Inc. Games will be played on week nights and Saturdays in the fall. League runs mid-August to late October.
