The Fargo Park District is looking for volunteers to help with special events and recreational programs throughout the year. Many ages and skill levels are welcome in the volunteer program.

The Department of Cultural Activities relies on volunteer assistance to make events happen. Volunteers can assist in setting up and working at events. Volunteers can be greeters, ticket takers, game operators, and parking attendants. Some events encourage families and large groups to participate together.


Cultural Activities Volunteer Opportunity: Celtic Festival

Date: Saturday, March 11.  Volunteer shifts are from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm or from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Event Description: Celtic Festival is a celebration of the seven Celtic Nations featuring the   history, arts and  traditions of Brittany, Cornwall, Isle of Man, Galicia, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The festival features  dancers, live Celtic music, presentations about folk traditions of the past and present, activities booths and Celtic foods.

Volunteer Description: 
Arts & Crafts- Assist children with various arts and craft projects
Greeter– Welcome people into the Celtic Fest and assist people with information about the activities available.
Food– Assist in clearing tables and distribution of food to entertainment and presenters.

MAT Bus Option:
*From GTC /Downtown take the 4 line (dark green) to the Hjemkomst Center.
* From GTC/Downtown you can also take the Link FM. On Saturdays it make loops from downtown Fargo to Moorhead from 10:00am-5:00pm.

Valley Senior Services: 

Looking for volunteers to help deliver meals Monday-Friday throughout various counties in North Dakota. We currently deliver to an average of 400 people a day. These meals help seniors on a contributory basis to offset the cost of meal preparation. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Kayla at 701-293-1440

Recreation Department: 

The recreation department relies on volunteers for coaching youth baseball and youth flag football and other special events throughout the year.
