Park Maintenance I

This position will assist in the maintenance of parks throughout the Fargo Park District. Knowledge of park maintenance equipment and operation is required. This position may be assigned to work at the indoor ice arenas during the winter season.

Irrigation Specialist/Park Maintenance II

This position is responsible for the operation and installation of irrigation throughout the parks owned and maintained by the Fargo Park District. Assist with other maintenance needs as directed by the Foreman of Operations. Knowledge of park maintenance equipment and operation is required.

Minimum qualifications include completion of a two year technical program related to Park Maintenance or high school diploma/GED and five years’ experience in irrigation work.

Part-time Fall Maintenance Workers

The Fargo Park District is accepting applications for part-time fall maintenance workers at the golf courses, north side and south side, park maintenance, field maintenance and forestry.  Pay range $8.00 to $12.00/hour. Individuals must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities include:
- Operation of large mowers, hand push mowers and string trimmers in the parks and athletic fields.
- Providing grounds maintenance labor at the public golf courses, operation of tractors, self-propelled mowers, irrigation equipment, trucks and a variety of hand tools. Weekend work required on a rotating basis.
- Assisting in the general care of trees and landscape beds.

FACILITY ATTENDANT POSITIONS:

BUILDING ATTENDANT (FOR ROBERT D. JOHNSON AND RHEAULT FARM):
Individuals must be at least 18 years old.  Responsibilities include opening building and rooms, overseeing rentals, locking building, light office work and custodial duties.  Part time position weekdays, evenings and weekends required, hours will vary.  Pay scale $8.00 to $9.00/hour.

RECREATION POSITIONS:

OPEN GYM ATTENDANTS:
Responsibilities include supervision of youth during open gym times, completion of weekly reports, maintaining discipline and order of youth, and tracking of equipment.  Weekend hours required.  Pay scale is $8.00-$9.00/hour.

LIFEGUARDS:
Lifeguards will be staffed at the Fargo South Indoor Pool on weekends December through March.  Applicants must have current American Red Cross certification in lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid.  Pay scale starting at $8.50/hour.

SPORTS SAMPLER STAFF:
Responsibilities include instructing youth ages 4 to 6 yrs the basics of various sports and group activities. This is a five week program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Sept 3-Oct. 3 and the month of January. Pay scale starting at $8.25/hour.

SKATING INSTRUCTORS:
Responsibilities include instructing beginners, intermediates, novice patch and adult skating levels at the Sports Arena, Coliseum and the Southwest Youth Ice Arena.   Applicants are required to have basic through advanced skills experience.  Weekday, weekend and evening hours required.  Pay scale $10.00/hour.  For more information contact Dave at #499-6087.

TEEN NIGHT BUS DRIVER:
This program is for teens with special needs.  The group meets at Rheault Farm on Thursday nights and each week there is a planned activity or field trip.  This position would be responsible for driving the group to and from scheduled field trips as well as assisting the Teen Night Coordinator in running the scheduled activities as well as interacting with and helping the participants of the group.  This program runs from mid-October thru April.  Applicant must have current and proper CDL endorsements and must pass a pre-employment drug screening.  Pay scale is $12.00-14.00/hr.

ADAPTIVE BOWLING STAFF: 
This program is for adults with special needs.  The group meets at Red River Lanes on Wednesday afternoons.  This position would be responsible for helping set up and take down the lanes for participants in wheelchairs who use ramps to bowl as well as assisting the participants with lining up their ramps and retrieving their bowling ball between throws.  This program runs from late August thru the end of April.  Pay scale is $8.00-9.00/hr.

ADULT HOCKEY REFEREES:
Individuals must be USA Certified.  Leagues are on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. Games are approximately one hour.  Pay scale is $35.00 per game.

YOUTH BASKETBALL COACHES:   
Responsibilities include instruction and organization of youth basketball practices and games.  Applicants must have good organizational and public relation skills.  Tuesday and Thursday evenings required.  Program starts in mid-February.  Pay scale starting at $8.25/hour.

WARMING HOUSE ATTENDANTS:   
Responsibilities include opening and closing of warming house facility each day, maintain discipline and order of people at the warming houses, completion of daily reports and general maintenance of the facility.  Evening and weekend hours required.  Pay scale is $8.00-$9.00/hour.

ADULT BASKETBALL REFEREES:
Individuals will be responsible for reporting to each scheduled basketball game, starting on time, and maintaining control of games.  Individuals will be responsible to find substitute if unable to be at scheduled game.  Individuals must attend all clinics that have been set by the Program Director.  Weekday evening hours and Sundays required, November through March.  Pay scale is $29.00/game.

ADULT BASKETBALL SCOREKEEPERS:   
Responsibilities include opening facility for games and securing facility after game; setting up for the games, enforcing School and Park District rules; run score book and score clock; make sure facility is clean after games.  Individuals should know the game of basketball.  Weekday evening and weekend hours required.  Pay scale is $13.50/game.

ADULT BROOMBALL SCOREKEEPERS:
Responsibilities include setting up for games, enforcing Park District rules; run score book and score clock; make sure facility is clean after games. Individuals should know the game of broomball. Weekday evening and weekend hours required.  Pay scale is $10.00/game.

ADULT VOLLEYBALL REFEREES:
Individuals will be responsible for reporting to each scheduled volleyball game, starting on time and maintain control of games.   Weekday evening and weekend hours required, August through May.  Pay scale is $17.00/match.

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL COACHES:
Eight week program beginning early October.  Position reports to the Youth Volleyball Coordinator.  Responsible for organizing practices and games.  Must have good organizational and public relation skills.  Monday, Tuesday & Thursday evening hours required.  Pay scale starting at $8.25/hour.

ADULT DODGEBALL LEAGUE COORDINATOR:
Responsible for supervising play, tracking rosters, scores and standings.  Program is Sunday and Wednesday evenings, January thru March.  Pay scale is $11.00-12.00/hour.

PICKLEBALL STAFF:
Responsible for setting up courts and supervising play.  Program is Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., January through March.  Pay scale is $8.00-9.00/hour,

DIKE WEST ATTENDANTS:
Responsibilities include maintaining order and discipline of kids, keeping track of inner tubes, tracking of daily attendance, general maintenance of the building and working during private rentals before and after hours.  Evening and weekend hours required.  Pay scale starting at $8.00/hour.

ADULT BROOMBALL REFEREES:
Responsibilities include refereeing broomball games and enforcing league rules.  Some experience is needed.  Pay scale is $27.00/game.

ARENA STAFF LEAD WORKERS:
Responsibilities include supervising building and shift workers, cleaning and general maintenance of the ice arena, operate Zamboni, answer phones, skate sharpening and must be able to work with the public. Evening and weekend hours required. Pay scale is $10.00-$12.00/hour. 

ARENA STAFF WORKERS:
Responsibilities include assisting the shift lead worker with building coverage, cleaning, Zamboni ice resurfacing, answering phones and skate sharpening. Evening and weekend hours required. Pay scale is $9.00-$10.00/hour. 

SANTA VILLAGE:
Elves:
Responsibilities include creating holiday magic by working in Santa’s Workshop and Farm House at Rheault Farm.  Duties include guest relations and assistance, program facilitation including supervising children’s and adult activity areas; monitoring of model train area; and assisting Santa and Mrs. Claus in a non-commercial giving environment.  Weekend and evening hours required, November 17- through December 23.  Pay scale $7.50-$9.00/hour.

CONCESSION STAFF AT ICE FACILITIES:
Responsibilities include handling food, money, general cleaning and keeping accurate daily records.  Individuals must have good public relation skills.  Pay scale $7.50 to $9.00/hour. 
Evening and weekend hours required, September through February.

EVENT STAFF:
Event staff needed for fall and winter events.  Duties include guest relations, program facilitation including costumed characters and kids games, ticket sales, food handling, site set up, tear down and general maintenance.  Quality customer service a must, ability to lift 50 pounds, work outdoors, and follow instructions.  Night and weekend hours required. Pay scale $7.50-$9.00/hour.

Courts Plus Community Fitness is accepting applications for the following part-time positions:

CUSTODIAN:

The position will be responsible for custodial duties within the facility and to provide a safe and clean environment. Hours: Mon-Fri 4:00pm-9:00pm, Sat 10:00am-5:00pm and Sun 12:00pm-5:00pm. Starting wage is $9.20.
